DottedLine child safety standards (CSAE)
Orbitem Corp. Last updated: September 7, 2026
These are the published standards of DottedLine by Orbitem against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). They apply to the DottedLine iOS and Android apps and to this website.
DottedLine is a civic coordination product for adults. It is not directed at children.
Zero tolerance
Orbitem Corp does not allow CSAE or CSAM on DottedLine. That includes:
- Sexual content involving anyone 17 or under, whether real, generated, or depicted
- Grooming, solicitation, or sexualization of minors
- Links, files, or messages that share or seek CSAM
- Using DottedLine to arrange contact that exploits a child
We treat CSAE as an immediate safety issue, not as ordinary community debate.
Age
You must be 18 or older to create a DottedLine account that uses phone verification, and to use Orbitem SMS. The Google Play listing is 18+. DottedLine is not in the Designed for Families program.
If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and remove associated personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.
How to report
In the DottedLine app: use Report on a petition, comment, organization, profile, or message. Choose Child sexual abuse or exploitation when you see that option. On builds that do not list it yet, choose Inappropriate content or Other, and say clearly that this is a child safety or CSAE concern.
Without the app: email contact@orbitem.com with the subject “Child safety”. Include the URL or ID of the content if you have it.
Do not email, attach, or forward images or files of suspected CSAM. Describe what you saw. Sending CSAM, even to report it, can be illegal.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
What we do
When we obtain actual knowledge of CSAE or CSAM we:
- Remove the content from DottedLine as quickly as we can
- Suspend or close accounts used to create, share, or solicit it
- Preserve records as required by law
- Report confirmed CSAM to the NCMEC CyberTipline and to other regional or national authorities as applicable
Human reviewers handle these reports. We do not leave confirmed CSAM on the service while we wait for a later review cycle.
Public petitions may also be held for review before they go live, under the Community Guidelines.
